मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांनी मुंबईच्या लोकल ट्रेनचे मेट्रोसारखे आधुनिकीकरण करण्याची माहिती दिली. नव्या लोकलमध्ये एसी कोच असतील आणि केंद्र सरकारच्या तीन प्रमुख कोच कारखान्यांमध्ये या गाड्यांचे उत्पादन वेगाने केले जाणार आहे. 2027 पर्यंत आधुनिक लोकलची पहिली मालिका सुरू करण्याचे उद्दिष्ट असून 2029-30 पर्यंत मुंबईतील सर्व लोकल मेट्रोसारख्या करण्याचे नियोजन आहे.
या एसी लोकलच्या आधुनिकीकरणानंतरही दुसऱ्या वर्गाच्या प्रवासाचे भाडे वाढवले जाणार नसल्याचे फडणवीस यांनी सांगितले. या निर्णयासाठी पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी आणि रेल्वेमंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव यांचे त्यांनी आभार मानले.
याशिवाय फडणवीस यांनी विरोधकांवर संसदेतील चर्चेपासून दूर राहिल्याचा आरोप करत टीका केली. झारखंडमधील त्यांच्या कथित दुहेरी भूमिकेवरही त्यांनी प्रश्न उपस्थित केले.
